Gez, I need to make an effort to update my blog diligently.Afterall, I've to practise what I usually 'preach' to my students, rite?That is, when you start something, persist in doing it well...& since the Home Ec dept has come on-board to using blogging as a SHARING platform, I'll be more than glad to share whatever I can.But most importantly, we teachers can network better!QUIZSTARTo start the ball rolling, there's this website;
QuizStar

Teachers can create an account and different class profiles for his/her class. It's really easy... You can create online quizzes like MCQs, short-answer Qns & True/False Qns.
& the best thing is, the web will actually tabulate the scores for you! You can also monitor who have or have not attempted the quizzes. You can upload a quiz and assign it to multiple classes. As such, you'll still be able to monitor your students' understanding and SAVING the trees coz there's no need to print test papers or worksheets.
& since students nowadays have computers and internet access at home, it can be used as a web/online-independent learning tool. Wow! Go and try... I've used it for a few years, and it's definitely convenient...Try exploring its other functions and be awed with wonderment... :)

One of the days, with the school's permission, I brought my F&N girls to a nearby supermarket (pls call & speak to the store manager first!). There are many lessons that can be covered jus by spending 2hrs there; Convenience food, Food labels, Food commodities, Food hygiene & Food storage & the list goes on...
Feedback from pupils; they find it interesting and fun (anything outside the classrm is FUN for them) and they happen to remember
what they see and learn better (incidental learning through first-hand experience).

With that, that's the end of my entry for now....
To my dear comrades out there, "when the Going gets tough, the Tough gets going". We r all resilient people... ok, back to coursework, Coursework & COURSEWORK...
